Environmental Studies Grade 4

Meet Kua, Mary, Suli and Joe in Grade 4, friends you may have made in Grade 3.  This year you can join them in your journey through the Environmental Studies Grade 4 syllabus.  You will study the ecosystems and living and non-living resources.  You will read legends of how a natural feature was formed and why a crayfish came back to its place.  You will debate clearing land to build a house or leave the forest for the butterflies.  You will learn that the power of nature can change the landscape and you will prepare a case study and present your findings to the class.

Explore the big pictures, try the activities with them and discuss the questions with your friends.  Learn how to draw maps showing natural and human-made features.  Learn how to find directions and how a pinwheel can show a cycle.  Look at an ant community and write poems.  You will see the difference between needs and wants, how people are endangering the lives of other animals, and how we can look after our environment.
