Maths Action is a series of mathematics books that provides opportunities for students to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding using a range of learning strategies. Students' progress is measured by their responses to interesting and varied mathematical questions.
The series has been written to provide challenging and motivational material to meet the wide range of individual differences of students in the classroom. The books are ideal for individualised and group learning programs.
The 30 units in each book are divided into different sections:
- Thinking Mathematically
- Strands: Number, Measurement, Data, Space, Patterns and Algebra
- Substrands
- Mentals
Mentals provides students with the opportunity to further develop basic concepts in mathematics. The questions have been organised into three levels. This assists teaching and learning to be more closely aligned to students' current level of achievement.
A Strand is included to provide a specific set of mathematical examples. It has also been organised into three levels.
The books include an easy to read answer section.
