Pacioli Income Tax Accounting (PITA) is a unique 24/7 virtual accounting tutor. It allows students to develop their accounting knowledge and skills in a highly efficient and effective manner, and at their own pace.

 

Using a worksheet approach, PITA provides a unique learning environment for students to prepare journal entries for the current and deferred tax consequences arising out of various transactions and financial situations.  Specifically, students learn how to account for current tax and deferred tax obligations, how to recover prior period tax losses and how to account for changes in the tax rate.

 

In broad outline, PITA generates and displays financial and other details relating to a single company.  Using the data provided (case information and financial data), together with blank on-screen worksheets, students enter data into worksheet cells, and then devise and input the journal entries needed to record end of period current and/or deferred tax obligations.
