Pikinini Readers

One of the nine beautifully illustrated picture book stories in the Pikinini Readers series for young PNG students.  The books have been written by Diana Donigi and Jenny Cairns, and are designed to encourage a love of reading in lower primary children.

Baked with care by an old meri in a small village, everyone wants to eat the Saksak boy, but off he runs into the jungle. No one can catch him - not even the cassowary, the pig nor the wallaby. Whoever wants to eat the Saksak boy will have to trick him. Who in the jungle is sly enough to finally catch and eat the delicious Saksak boy?
