PNG History Through Stories Book 2

Papua New Guinea History Through Stories Book 2 follows in the style of Book 1, with previously little-known stories of Papua New Guinea's past.   The main purpose of this book is to help Papua New Guinean students understand more about their past.  Although we may never know much about Papua New Guinea's ancient history, there is a lot to be learnt from the thousands of books and articles written since the 19th century, many of which are the sources of the stories that follow.  Each story in this book is unique but, taken together, they touch on several important themes of Papua New Guinea's history since the 1870s.

Teacher will have their own methods of using this book in the classroom, but they are invited to instruct their students, after reading the stories, to complete the exercises, which are designed to help them understand the main points and to think further about certain issues.  The exercises, with their emphasis on comprehension, writing and word knowledge, will also assist in imporiving students' literacy.

Students will enjoy reading these well-illustrated stories and, by completing the carefully constructed exercises, will at the same time learn a lot about the history of Papua New Guinea.
